NHSA Receives Legacy Grant Fund!
Aug 8, 2014, 6:38 pm

We would like to announce that New Hamburg Softball Association has applied for and will be receiving a grant for the purchase of a new pitching machine and accessories for the batting cage for next year from the KSA (Kitchener Sports Association) / ISC(International Softball Congress) Legacy grant fund.

Earlier this year in April a “Softball Evening” was held by the KSA and the announcement of the opportunity to apply for monies from a one time Legacy Grant fund was offered up to local softball organizations including Kitchener, Waterloo, Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich.

The associations were given information to explain the grant and about the application process. Each association that was applying for the funds had to show a need for a one time improvement project for their association for the betterment, safety or enjoyment for their players. New Hamburg Softball Association applied with the hope that part of the funds from the grant could be obtained to purchase a new machine and accessories to help the development and improve the safety of their players. New Hamburg Softball has over 200 players involved in numerous teams from T-Ball through to Junior Ladies and the upgrade to a new machine would be beneficial to all involved for safety and also the improvement of skills in our players.

After a waiting period where the directors looked at all applications, they made a unanimous decision to accept New Hamburg’s bid and give us $2500. All successful grant recipients will be presented with their cheque at a game during the 2014 ISC World Fastball Tournament being held at the Peter Hallman Ball Yard being held in Kitchener between August 8th to 16th.   We will presented with ours on August 15th during the 8:00 pm game on diamond P1. Teams and players from many countries will be playing at this tournament which will be a great way to see some fantastic fastball action !
